Allpool veidi inglisekeelset juttu Carlose tutvustamiseks:

The winemaker of Ribeiro Santo wines Carlos Lucas is a brand of its own. Few winemakers in Portugal boast the decades of experience that saw the launch of countless iconic labels, the development of a number of international projects and marketing offensives, positions on prestigious judging panels and work as wine advisor and consultant. He openly admits he is a man of the world, with a burning passion for wine whatever its provenance, but in truth, Carlos Lucas’ heart lies firmly in the Dão region of Portugal. It is here that, in 2011, alongside fellow winemaker and old friend Carlos Rodrigues, he founded Magnum Carlos Lucas Vinhos. ‘

Even though Magnum produces in several regions, perhaps some of most iconic of Carlos Lucas’ wines are produced in the Dão region, at the restored Quinta do Ribeiro Santo. With its own winery and vineyards cared for using organic products that respect the environment, the estate is planted with the typical local varieties, such as Touriga Nacional, Tinto Cão, Alfrocheiro and Encruzado. The resulting wines, bearing Ribeiro Santo name, are Carlos’ signature labels, which reflect the authenticity and transparency of their creator. Their outward appearance, classic and sometimes even vintage in style, gives them international standing and allows them to compete anywhere in the world, according to the winemaker. Inside, they are elegant and sophisticated, ‘revealing themselves now but to be kept for some years’, as Carlos explains.
